Rise Up, Corporate America!
Introducing fiduciary patriotism: if you want a thriving economy, you need a functioning democracy.
A note from Lawrence
Corporate America insists it’s a person, so I’m talking to it person to person. You spent the last decade optimizing for quarterly profits while tolerating a man who now threatens the stability your entire business model depends on: trade wars on a whim, retribution, attacks on the Constitution itself.
My argument is simple and very capitalist. Authoritarianism is incompatible with consumer capitalism. Frightened people don’t spend, uncertain people don’t invest, and nobody upgrades a phone in a surveillance state. If you are the citizens you claim to be, fiduciary duty now means defending democracy. There is no economy without it.
