A Gun Virgin No More
This “gun control” liberal fires his first weapon.
A note from Lawrence
On a cold day in northern Indiana, a lifelong gun-control advocate fired an AR-style rifle for the first time, hit the target three times out of three, and called his best friend breathless. When she asked whether people should own these guns, the answer I’d given my whole life wouldn’t come out. I said, “I don’t know.”
This is me thinking out loud about why. Officeholders, soldiers, and new citizens all swear an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Most of us born here never have. I’m not telling anyone to arm up. I am asking what we owe the Constitution when the people sworn to defend it won’t.
